Bixler Creates Successful Prototype for PolicyArchive, an Online Policy Research Resource
Bixler Incorporated, a leading e-business consulting and software company, has developed an innovative prototype for PolicyArchive, a comprehensive online resource for public policy research.
PolicyArchive will provide communities across the U.S. with free, open access to a digital archive of public policy research on a broad range of topics. The site will include both summaries and full text of policy research from diverse sources, including those from academia, nonprofit organizations and the government. Policy research publishers around the globe will gain access to an inclusive system that allows them to distribute, archive and publicize policy research.
“PolicyArchive will be unique not only for its wealth of archived information, but also as a resource of up-to-date information enabling communities to shape contemporary public policy,” said Josh Bixler, president of Bixler Incorporated. “We’ve worked with the Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) on several successful projects which improve public access to information. Developing the information architecture and intuitive, easy-to-use prototype site for PolicyArchive with CGS, IUPI University Library and our partner EricksonBarnett was an exciting challenge.”
Romulo Rivera, project manager for PolicyArchive, worked closely with Bixler during development of the prototype and agreed that creating a functional design was the goal. “Working with the Bixler team was a very positive experience that established a successful blueprint for PolicyArchive’s functionality, design and workflow,” he said. “The prototype has been an effective tool in PolicyArchive’s development.”
